Re: differences
stole this off of wikipedia, hope this helps.
SiR (EF9)
* Displacement: 1595 cc
* Compression: 10.2:1
* Rod/stroke ratio: 1.74
* Power: 158 hp (118 kW) @ 7600 rpm & 111 ft·lbf (150 N·m) @ 7000 rpm
* Transmission: S1/J1/Y1/YS1
SiRII (EG6/EG9)
* Displacement: 1595 cc
* Compression: 10.4:1
* Power: 170 hp (130 kW) @ 7800 rpm & 116 ft·lbf (157 N·m) @ 7300 rpm
* Transmission: S4C
also, im pretty sure the SiRII would be odb1 while the SiR would be obd0.
check to see if your ecu has a light on the side to check for codes. if it has one, it would be obd0.
please someone correct me if im wrong

actually, if you look in the Crx forum, theres a swap info thread.
this information is in that too.

Re: differences
well the engine is obd1. was wondering if there was a stamp on the head or block that would distinguish them apart also.

the jdm ones only come with "B16A", even if they are different generations.
if yours is odb1, i would take a guess at saying its SiRII
